Hint Oscillator

The Hint Oscillator is a tool utilized to analyze trends on charts and determine momentum in the financial markets. It allows for the identification of whether bullish or bearish forces are currently dominant.

Defined:

  • Momentum: the impetus gained by a moving object
  • Bullish force: A bull market is a market that is on the rise and where the conditions of the economy are generally favorable.
  • Bearish force: A bear market exists in an economy that is receding and where most stocks are declining in value.

The Oscillator can be divided into 3 parts:

  • Above 0
  • Below 0
  • Equal to 0

The Hint Oscillator utilizes a bar chart representation to indicate the current momentum in the market.

  • Bars above the Zero line indicate bullish momentum
  • Bars below the Zero line indicate bearish momentum
  • Neutral momentum is indicated by Bars that are located at the Zero line

The color of the bars provides further insight into market conditions:

  • Green bars indicating an increase in bullish momentum
  • Red bars indicating a increase in Bearish momentum.
